Support & Help
Last updated: October 8, 2025
1. Quick Start
- Install LifePath (App Store link coming soon).
- Grant "Always Allow" location permission when prompted.
- Leave the app—your device will collect points every few minutes.
- Return later → open Timeline or Map to view visits.
- Use Settings → "Process Data Now" to manually force processing.
2. Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see any data yet?
It can take 5-10 minutes of actual movement before the first batch of points arrives. Also ensure “Always Allow” permission is granted in iOS Settings → LifePath → Location.
Does this drain my battery?
Typical impact is ~5-10% daily. LifePath uses deferred updates and only wakes in ~5-minute intervals or when 100m movement accumulates.
Why is there no blue location bar?
That's intentional. Deferred updates allow passive collection without continuous foreground GPS usage.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings → Export. Choose JSON (full backup), CSV (tables), or GPX (map format). Use Files / AirDrop / other destinations.
Can I sync across devices?
Not currently. LifePath is intentionally on-device only. You control if/when data moves.
Can I delete specific points?
Point-level pruning is not yet available. You can clear all data or export → filter externally → re-import (planned enhancement).
3. Troubleshooting
No points are being collected
- Confirm permission: Settings → LifePath → Location → Always
- Ensure Background App Refresh is ON
- Disable Low Power Mode (it pauses background tasks)
- Move at least 10-20 meters outdoors with clear sky view
- Wait 5-10 minutes for first batch
- Open app → check Settings stats section
Visits look wrong or missing
- Short stops (< 2 minutes) are intentionally filtered
- Allow more points to collect—accuracy improves with density
- Use "Process Data Now" after movement to re-cluster
High battery usage
- Check usage after at least 24 hours (initial day may spike)
- Ensure app was not left open in foreground for long periods
- iOS 17+ occasionally re-indexes after install—temporary
4. Data Export Tips
- JSON: Re-importable full dataset. Keep safe if storing externally.
- CSV: Use for spreadsheet analysis or visualization tools.
- GPX: Import into mapping apps (e.g., GPX Studio) to visualize trips.

6. Status & Roadmap
Planned (non-binding): weekly summaries, optional tagging, transport refinement, archiving tools.
LifePath is a personal independence tool—not a surveillance or family tracking app.
